About CardStake

CardStake is a peer-to-peer online marketplace that enables users to buy and sell fractional stakes in graded Pokémon cards securely. We provide a seamless platform for transactions and hold the cards in our vault or ship them directly to you. Our mission is to allow users to collect through fractional interests in cards that would otherwise be too costly or difficult to obtain. We're democratizing the world of trading cards one percent at a time.

Some Important Things to Know Before Using CardStake

No Forced Liquidation

With CardStake you can buy and sell as little as 1% at a time. If you own a stake in a card you don't want to sell and the owner of that card wants to withdraw it, they would have to buy a stake in another copy of the card of the same grade to get their ownership to 100%, you would then have your ownership be transferred to this card and they would be allowed to withdraw their card. THEY CANNOT BUY YOU OUT unless you explicitly list your shares on the CardStakeUS marketplace.

Fungible & Nonfungable Assets

Users who retain a 60% or greater stake in a card they submitted will have their card be non-fungible, meaning if they buy themselves back to a 100% stake then they have the ability to request the exact copy of the card submitted back. If a user's position in a card they submitted drops below 60% at any time, their card will then consequently be considered fungible. It is possible for a user to buy a stake in a card totaling 100% in a card and not be able to withdraw the card immediately if every copy being sold at the time is non fungible.

Fees

CardStake charges sellers a 6% Marketplace fee as well as transaction fee from our payment processor that usually ranges between 1.5% to 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction depending on the buyer's method of payment.

Trust & Security

We value your trust, and want to repay it by being the best version of ourselves we can be. In furtherance of that agenda CardStake treats the security of your cards with the utmost care by storing them in a bank vault with 24/7 security. If someone wants your precious cardboard, they would first have to rob a bank.

Minimum Sale Quantity

On the CardStake marketplace you can list cards for sale with a minimum sale quantity of 1, 5, or 10 percent, meaning all transactions will be more than the selected amount unless a buyer is purchasing the remainder. Why would someone want to sell a minimum of 5% per transaction? Some payment methods include a $0.30 per transaction fee, and selling 1% at a time means you could be paying an additional $30.00 if every sale has this fee. By allowing users to set a minimum sale quantity of 5% we reduce this to $6 which is a meaningful difference for lower value card sales.

CardStake reserves the right to change these rules at any time.
